Add a solid frame outside a JPG, PNG or WebP without covering the original edge pixels. Choose the border width, color and outer corner radius; the downloaded result is a PNG so rounded corners can remain transparent.
Control the frame, not the photo
- Expand the canvas evenly on all four sides instead of drawing over the image.
- Match a brand color or create breathing room around a product photo, card or thumbnail.
- Round only the outside of the new frame while preserving the complete source image.
How it works
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Set the border thickness, color and outer corner radius while checking the preview.
- Apply the frame and download the PNG result.
Canvas size and rounded corners
Border thickness is added outside every edge. A 20 px border increases both width and height by 40 px; it does not crop or cover the source.
The output is always PNG. When the outer radius creates corner cut-outs, those pixels stay transparent rather than being filled white.
Complementary image tools
The frame is rendered locally
The browser draws the border around your image and creates the PNG without sending the source file to ImageNexo.
Frequently asked questions
Does the border cover any part of my image?
No. The canvas expands around the source, so all original pixels remain visible.
How does border thickness change the dimensions?
The chosen thickness is added to the left, right, top and bottom. Width and height therefore each increase by twice that value.
Why is the bordered image saved as PNG?
PNG can preserve the transparent cut-outs produced by rounded outer corners.
Can I choose an exact border color?
Yes. Use the color control and inspect it together with the selected thickness in the live preview.
Is the original image changed?
No. The tool creates a separate bordered PNG.
