Pixel sampling and displayed color codes
The image preview is drawn to a canvas and the selected preview position is mapped to a pixel. The same sampled red, green and blue channels are then expressed as HEX, RGB and HSL, so the three values describe one color rather than three separate estimates.
For very large images, the browser scales the preview before selection, which can blend neighboring source pixels at the displayed size. Use Extract Color Palette when you need several representative colors from the whole image instead of one selected point.
